Thiksey Gustor Festivals

The Thiksey Gustor Festivals celebrated for two days in Thiksey Monastery located about 20km away from Leh.  The festival is a two-day religious ritual includes rituals like dance and music. The dates most time match with Dussehra which is celebrated all across India. The monks of the monastery chant the special morning prayers which mark the commencement of the festival. The eldest monk then invite the guardians of the four quarters which is followed by the mask dance. By evening the black hat dancers destroy the Troma and distributed among the visitors which marks the end of the celebrations.
