Chemrey Wangchok Festival

In India every state has their unique festivals so like in UT Ladakh also has many festivals in that Chemday Wangchok Festival is one of them which falls in winter. This festival is celebrated in Chemrey Monastery which was constructed by the great  Bhuddhist monk Lama Taktsang Repa.This Monastery is located 45 km away from Leh city. The history behind this festival is victory of good over the evil. All the monks prepare themselves for this auspices day and meditate for a week and perform a traditional mask dance.
