The Diskit Gustor Festival is celebrated in the Diskit Monastery. It is the largest and the oldest Monastery of Nubra Valley. The monastery is located at the hilltop and offers spectacular view of the valley and the Shyok river. The monastery belongs to the yellow hat section of the Tibetan Buddhism. The festival is a major even in the Nubra Valley and its celebrated for two days. The Lamas perform the unique chaam dance. The festival has a significance of the empowerment of the good over the evil.
